When the customer purchases an item or a product through Dash Island, as part of the buying and selling process, Dash Island will collect the personal information from customer. These include customer’s name, address and email address etc. When a customer or a viewer browses Dash Island, the Dash Island administrators will also automatically receive the customer or viewer’s computer’s Internet Protocol (IP) address. This will provide Dash Island with information that helps to learn about customer or viewer’s browser and operating system. Furthermore Dash Island may use this information for email marketing (if applicable), with customer or view’s consent. Dash Island may send customer or viewer emails or alerts on Dash Island stores, latest offers & promotions, latest products and other updates.


How does Dash Island receive customer’s consent? When the customer provides Dash Island with personal information to complete a transaction, verify the credit card provided, place an order, arrange delivery or return of a purchased item; Dash Island comprehends that the customer has provided consent on collecting information and using those information for the specific reason only. How does the customer withdraw the given consent? Dash Island may disclose customer’s personal information, if requested by a law authority or government agency to do so or if the customer violates Dash Island’s Terms of Service.


If the customer chooses a direct payment gateway to complete the purchase, then Dash Island will stores customer’s credit card data and encrypted through the Payment Card Industry Data Security Standard (PCI-DSS). The customer’s credit card data will only be stored until procession and completion of customer’s purchased transaction. Following the procession and completion of the transaction the credit card information will get deleted. All direct payment gateways adhere to the standards set by PCI-DSS and managed by the PCI Security Standards Council, which is a joint effort of brands such as Visa, MasterCard, American Express and Discover. PCI-DSS requirements assist to ensure the secure handling of credit card information by Dash Island store and its service providers.


In general, the third-party providers used by Dash Island will only collect, use and disclose customer’s information only to the extent necessary to allow the third-party to perform the services that they provide to Dash Island. However, certain third-party service providers, such as payment gateways and other payment transaction processors, have their own privacy policies. In respect to the third-party’s privacy policies Dash Island will have to pass the third-party with customer’s information to process the purchase-related transactions. For these providers, Dash Island would strongly recommend the customer to read the third-party’s privacy policies.  Therefore, the customer could get an idea of the method in which the customer’s personal information will get handled by the third-party. In particular, please note that certain third-party handlers may be located in or have facilities that are located in different jurisdiction to the customer or Dash Island. Therefore, if the customer choose to proceed with a transaction that involves the services of a third-party service provider, then the customer’s information might get handled subject to the laws of the jurisdiction(s) in which that service provider or its facilities are located in. As an example, if the customer is located in Canada and the customer’s transaction is processed by a payment gateway located in the United States, then the customer’s personal information used in completion of the relevant transaction may be subject to disclosure under United States legislation, including the Patriot Act. Once the customer exits Dash Island’s website or is redirected to the third-party website or application, customer is no longer governed by Dash Island’s Privacy Policy or Dash Island’s Terms of Service.


 When the customer clicks on links on Dash Island store, the customer may get directed away from dash Island site. Dash Island will not be responsible for the privacy practices of the other sites that you may have been redirected to.  Dash Island would strongly encourage the customer to read privacy statements of the above mentioned sites.


Dash Island store uses Google Analytics to assist it to understand of the visitors of its site as well as to gather information of the pages that the visitors have viewed.


In protection of the customer’s personal information, Dash Island undertakes strict cautions and follows industry’s best practices to guarantee, that those information has not inappropriately lost, misused, accessed, disclosed, altered or destroyed. If the customer provides Dash Island with the customer’s credit card information, those information is encrypted using Secure Socket Layer technology (SSL) and stored with an AES-256 encryption.  Dash Island uses GoDaddy Premium (EV), a top of the range SSL certificate to provide the security for its website. Even though no method of transaction over the Internet or electronic storage is 100% secure, Dash Island follows all PCI-DSS requirements and has implement additional generally accepted industry standards in provision of optimum security to its customers.

If Dash Island store has acquired or merged with another company, the customer’s information may be transferred to the new owners, so that Dash Island may continue business with the customer.
